Letter of Intent - FY 2012-2013

The United Way is focused on the most critical health and human service priorities and the steps needed to address them. We are engaging the community - residents, youth, nonprofits, businesses and civic leaders - to get the results that no one can accomplish alone - creating lasting change in people's lives and the community.

 

Summary

 

Under this year's Request for Proposals (RFP), the United Way of North Central Massachusetts is accepting applications from all 501(c)(3) health and human service organizations serving North Central Massachusetts for funding for the upcoming 2012-2013 fiscal year.

 

This is a competitive, open application process and will include two-steps - submission of a Letter of Intent and invitation to submit a full RFP. This is an Electronic Submissions Only process.

 

Qualified organizations may apply for programs that are currently receiving funds and/or apply for new funding for new programs or initiatives that develop strategies that speak to this United Way's Leadership Priorities as defined by the Board of Directors - specifically:


Youth Development and Education - as it pertains to
o Alcohol/Drug Abuse
o After School Programs
o Drop Out Rate
o Teen Pregnancy


Public Health Issues - as it pertains to
o Alcohol/Drug Abuse
o Teen Pregnancy
o Domestic Violence


Safety Net - programs that directly address food, clothing and shelter as the PRIMARY focus.
(Existing agencies/programs are welcome to apply however, greater weight will be given to programs aligned with priorities listed above and programs that are sustainable and scalable.)

 

Eligibility The applicant organization must have a governing Board of Directors and an Executive Director or President/CEO who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the organization. Applicants must be in good financial standing and must have the appropriate organizational capabilities to receive and administer public grant funds.

Letter of Intent Instructions The application process is a two-step process.

The deadline is 4:00 pm, Feb. 14 to submit your letter of intent.
