Karin Oliveira, Director of United Way Community Builders has been involved with the community development and volunteer sector for 12 years. Karin has been with Community Builders since its inception 6 years ago. Her responsibilities include program and training development, grant management, oversight and support in implementation and resource development. Karin has been a keynote speaker at several community events and has facilitated local, state and national workshops. Karin co-founded MassVolunteers, an affiliation between our statewide service commission and volunteer centers that are affiliate members of the Hands On Network (HON) to increase volunteerism in Massachusetts through capacity building, professional development, and thought leadership for the volunteer industry.
Brandon Jeffery, Fellowship Program Coordinator
brandon@uwncm.org Brandon is an AmeriCorps VISTA and has been working with United Way Community Builders since June 2009. He earned his bachelor of arts in Political Science with a concentration in American politics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He graduated cum laude in May 2009.
As our fellowship program coordinator, Brandon works closely with our fellows to enhance their community based initiatives in a variety of ways. Whether it's budgeting, social media marketing, or strategic planning, Brandon is here to help our fellows, whenever they need it. Brandon also has a strong history of working to improve communities. He is currently a member of the Fitchburg Community Lions Club and is an assistant varsity wrestling coach for Athol High School.

Juan is AmeriCorps Vista and has been working with United Way Community Builders since August 2011. He has eight years in non-profit work experience in direct service, certification in science based curriculum, and group facilitation. As the Volunteer Project Development Specialist, his responsibilities are to create events and projects that provide volunteer opportunities for the United Way Community Builders Volunteer Center. Juan helps maintain Community Builders website and trains agencies in how to post volunteer opportunities on the website for volunteers to view.
