UNITED WAY YOUTH VENTURE TEAMS TO HIGHLIGHT WORK

(Leominster)— Students from seven area school systems will gather to present their works at the 4th Annual United Way Youth Venture Year End Event, on Friday, May 12th from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Four Points Sheraton, Leominster, MA.  United Way Youth Venture, a program of the Center for Democracy and Humanity at Mount Wachusett Community College, is a national program that encourages young people to start new community-serving ventures to benefit schools, neighborhoods, or the larger community.

“This is a great event that recognizes the hard work of all 38 Youth Venture teams in our school systems, plus it gives other schools the opportunity to learn more about this powerful program,” noted Dorothee Stangle, United Way Youth Venture coordinator.

The annual affair provides students from Ayer, Fitchburg, Leominster, Shirley, along with North Central Charter Essential School, North Middlesex Public School System and Parker Charter Essential School the opportunity to highlight their work, collaborate, meet other teams and share insights on the program that integrates ventures into the schools’ curricula, after-school programs and electives.

United Way of North Central Massachusetts serves the communities of Ashburnham, Ashby, Ayer, Barre, Devens, Fitchburg, Gardner, Groton, Harvard, Hubbardston, Leominster, Littleton, Lunenburg, Pepperell, Shirley, Templeton, Townsend, Westminster and Winchendon.
