United Way hosts event to thank volunteers, donors

Attendees enjoy special evening of appreciation and entertainment


LEOMINSTER, MA April 23, 2018 -- The United Way of North Central Massachusetts held its 38th Campaign Recognition and Thank-You Event on Thursday, April 19th, at 5:30 p.m., at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Leominster, 99 Erdman Way.


United Way Campaign Chair, Bob Chauvin, retired president of Tyco SimplexGrinnell, acknowledged volunteers and area companies for their workplace campaigns. The program also featured an entertaining performance by Comedy Juggler Bryson Lang.


A number of organizations received the Spirit of North Central Massachusetts Corporate Leadership Award including Aubuchon Hardware, Athol Savings Bank, Sterilite Corporation and Workers Credit Union.


This year’s Employee Campaign Manager of the Year Award went to Janice Amburgey of Bemis Associates, Inc.


Westminster’s Samantha Collette and Ashburnham’s Victoria Powers were awarded academic scholarships for their contributions to the United Way Youth Venture. An additional scholarship, the Bob Chauvin Leadership Award, was given to Leominster’s Ethan Smith.
