Volunteering

Make a difference in our community.

Alexis de Tocqueville discovered nearly 200 years ago that volunteerism was the backbone of a free and healthy society. That has not changed. To learn how you can make a difference, please visit our web site which matches individuals with volunteer opportunities in our community.

“Americans of all ages, all stations of life, and all types of disposition are forever forming associations...In democratic countries knowledge of how to combine is the mother of all other forms of knowledge; on its progress depends that of all the others.”

Volunteer Opportunities in Early 2008

Are you looking for a unique way to give back to the community?

Consider being a volunteer at local free tax preparation sites during the upcoming tax season.

Volunteers provide free tax preparation help to working families making $40,000 or less. They also help filers determine if they are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit – which could provide them with up to $4,000 in returns to boost their cash flow to pay heating bills, repair their vehicles and potentially save for home ownership.

· No experience is necessary – really!

· IRS provides free training and certification.

· No liability to volunteers.

· Time commitment and schedule is up to you.
